Hong Kong Stocks Express is an investment tool that allows you to invest in the Hong Kong stock market from the UK. You keep full control of your own investment by having an investment account with Bank of China (UK) Limited. We provide you with an exclusive trading platform so that you can have a clear picture of your portfolios and trade whenever you want, benefits include:

  • A personal investment account in the UK that allows you to invest directly in the Hong Kong stock market
  • Access to more than 200 stocks and exchange traded funds
  • Only 0.25% commission fee with minimum HKD100
  • No account opening fee; no account management fee

Step 1: Open an account*

*Applicants must be at least 18 years old and accept our ‘Hong Kong Stocks Express Service Terms and Conditions’.

Step 2: Fund your account

Once your accounts are set up, you can fund your share current account in HKD by:

  • Paying in cheques or cash to our branch in person
  • Transferring money from your Bank of China (UK) Limited current account*
  • Transferring money from any other UK banks or overseas banks

* You can log on to your Internet Banking service, go to ‘My accounts’, and find ‘Make a transfer in cross-currency’ to make an immediate transfer during UK business hours. 

Step 3: Placing your first trade

Once you have activated the account and deposited sufficient funds into your share current account, you are ready to trade.

Board Lot – The standardised multiple number of shares defined by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange as a trading unit. The board lot varies for different shares listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Bonus Shares – A corporate action where a listed company gives existing shareholders some extra free shares.

Rights Subscriptions – A situation where an investor takes up the rights to purchase extra shares following a rights issue.

Warrants Conversions – A warrant is a product that may be used to buy a specified number of new shares in a listed company at a specified exercise price, at a given time, or within a given period. A warrant conversion refers to a situation where the exercise price has been met and a specified number of new shares are bought.
