Bank of China Limited Sydney Branch* was established in 1942 and was one of the first foreign banks in Australia. It holds a full range banking licence to provide services to individuals as well as businesses.

Bank of China (Australia) Limited* was established in 2005.

Since the Branch resumed operations in 1985, its business scope has expanded rapidly along with growing market influence. Today the Bank has established 9 offices in 4 states, viz. New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia and has become the leading institution for RMB business in Australia. In November 2014 the People’s Bank of China designated Bank of China Sydney Branch as the RMB clearing bank in Sydney.
