BOC Macau Signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with City University of Macau


On May 18, 2016, the Signing Ceremony of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement (the Agreement) between Bank of China Macau Branch (BOC Macau) and City University of Macau (CityU) was held at Ho Yin Convention Center of City University of Macau, together with a seminar on “Building a Financial Ecosphere, Speeding up the Development of Macau’s Characteristic Financial Industry”. Mr. Wang Shangjun, President of BOC Macau, and Mr. Zhang Shuguang, Rector of CityU, represented both parties and signed the Agreement.

VIP guests who came to this ceremony include member of the National Committee of the Political Consultative Conference, Mr. Lao Nga Wong, Deputy Manager of Hengqin Financial Affairs Bureau, Mr. Zhang Cheng, Vice President of Tai Fung Bank, Mr. Au Ieong Lu Kong, Executive Director of BNU, Ronald Kan Cheok Kuan, President Assistant of BOC Macau, Mr. Jiang Kuiwei, Chairman of the University Board, Mr. Chan Meng Kam, Vice President of CityU Kong Fanqing, Supervisor of Macau Foundation, Mr. Lok Weng Kan, and member of Macau Foundation Administration Council, Mr. Chang Chi Long.

President Wang Shaojun spoke highly of the close cooperation between BOC Macau and CityU over the past years. This new Strategic Cooperation Agreement will become the new beginning for a mutual comprehensive cooperation in the future. BOC Macau hopes to further the cooperation with CityU in terms of financial education and research with CityU becoming the “Think Tank” and “Talent Tank” for Macau. Together, BOC Macau and CityU will make greater contributions to build up Macau’s financial ecosphere, develop Macau’s characteristic financial industry, and paint a prosperous future.

Rector Zhang Shuguang expressed the appreciation for the trust and support given by BOC Macau in the past to help improve the educational quality and optimize the educational system of CityU. Through this new strategic cooperation, CityU believes there will be increasingly more research cooperation between the two parties in order to serve the financial reform and the Macau society.

After the signing ceremony, President Wang Shaojun gave a speech on “Building a Financial Ecosphere, Speeding up the Development of Macau’s Characteristic Financial Industry”.
