Canada Deposit Insurance Corporate(CDIC)

Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) is a federal crown corporation that protects your eligible deposits. Bank of China (Canada) is a member of CDIC. CDIC would reimburse insured deposits (including interest) to a maximum of $100,000 per insured category per member institution, if the member institution failed. Coverage is free and automatic; and clients do not have to apply for it. 　

To be eligible for deposit insurance, deposits must be：

• payable in Canada
• in Canadian, US, or foreign currency

Eligible deposits include:

• Savings accounts
• Chequing accounts
• Term deposits (GICs)
• Money orders
• Certified cheques
