As per our business planning and decision, Bank of China (Canada) (the Bank) will close the current Toronto Scarborough Branch and relocate the existing service to a new branch. In this regard, we provide you with the following information.

3. Measures to be taken:
To be compliant with Financial Consumer Agency of Canada(FCAC) relevant guidance, to facilitate the branch relocation, a consulting meeting will be held on Dec 15, 2015 from 16:30 pm to 18:30 pm at the branch for the community members that are affected by the closure of the branch, If you consider yourself as an interested person to this closure, please contact the branch customer service representative with the phone number at the end the Notice to make a reservation for the meeting.
The Commissioner of FCAC may require Bank of China (Canada) to convene and hold a meeting between representatives of the Bank, representatives of FCAC and interested parties in the vicinity of the branch, in order to exchange views about the proposed closure of the branch.
The Bank will hold other public notice and consultation activities with the affected customers for customer full understanding and comfort.
After the branch relocation, the Bank will make sure that all existing Toronto Scarborough Branch customers will be redirected to GTA Main Branch and they will obtain full services and products similar to the financial services that were provided previously as all their banking accounts maintained with the Bank will be automatically transferred to the new branch with no business disruption. The branch’s safe deposit box service customers will be provided with a separate notification letter for alternative arrangement.
After the branch relocation, the Bank will continue servicing our clients and community with convenient location access , new building, spacious lobby, updated banking facilities and more parking spaces, etc. In addition, the Bank will upgrade our banking IT system in the first half of 2016 for providing better services including online banking services to customers.
In addition to obtaining the financial services from GTA Main Branch , the existing customers can use the similar banking services from other nearby branches such as Toronto Markham Branch located at Unit 3, 3265 Highway 7 East,First Markham Place, Markham, ON L3R 3P9 and Toronto North York Branch located at Unit 28, 3040 Don Mills Road, Peanut Plaza, North York, ON M2J 3C1, which are within or about 10 kilometers from the closed branch.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers, and we believe that through taking various kinds of effective measures as described above, the impact of branch relocation to the affected customers will be brought to minimum.
