Introduction
The internationally freely convertible foreign currencies you hold can be exchanged into RMB or other freely convertible foreign currencies you need at outlets of Bank of China.
Features
At present, the rich convertible currency includes 17 types, namely GBP, HKD, USD, CHF, SGD, SEK, NOK, JPY, DKK, CAD, AUD, EUR, PHP, THB, KRW, MOP and NTD.
Process
Customers need to take valid personal identity documents, fill out relevant documentation and pay cash for transaction. Valid identity documents include: personal ID card (Chinese citizen), Hukou book (Chinese citizen under age of 16), military ID card (Chinese People's Liberation Army), armed police ID card (Chinese People's Armed Police), mainland travel permit for Hong Kong and Macao residents, mainland travel permit for Taiwan residents and passport (foreign national or Chinese citizen with passport).
Re-exchange Procedures
For re-exchanging the overseas exchanged foreign currencies that have not been used up into RMB, customers can transact the business with valid personal identity documents and original exchange memo of Bank of China. The effective period of re-exchange on the exchange memo is within 24 months since the exchanging date. For the accumulated re-exchange of less than an equivalent value of USD 500 (inclusive) on that very day and the accumulative re-exchange of less than an equivalent value of USD 1,000 (inclusive) conducted outside the Pass and within the territory of China, customers can transact the business with valid personal identity documents.
Kind Reminder
1. For the changing foreign exchange rate in real time, you shall make a decision of exchange within valid time, and you can't make cancellation once your transact.
2. Part of the currencies only can be transacted at some outlets. For more information, please consult local 95566 or the counter of Bank of China.
