Financing Guarantees

A written document issued by Bank of China at the request of the borrower to the lender, guaranteeing the borrower will fulfil obligation to repay borrowed funds. Financing guarantees can include: loan guarantees, overdraft guarantees, securities issuance guarantees, and credit line guarantees.

Non-Financing Guarantees

Performance guarantee

A written document issued by Bank of China at the request of the customer to the owner of a contracted project or the counterparty to a sales contract, guaranteeing the applicant will strictly perform within the terms of the contract.

Lease guarantee

A lease guarantee is a written document issued by Bank of China to the lessor, at the request of the lessee, to guarantee on-time payment of rent by the lessee.

Quality/maintenance guarantee

A written document issued to the owner or the buyer from Bank of China to guarantee that the applicant will fulfil contract obligations within a warranty or maintenance period, at the request of a construction contractor or supplier.

Tender guarantee/bid bond

A written document issued by the Bank at the request of the tenderee for construction and project procurement bids, committing that the tenderer will not withdraw or amend any bid during a validity period, and will sign the contract or submit a performance guarantee within the pre-set time on successfully winning a bid.

Advance payment guarantee

A written document issued by Bank of China at the request of a customer to the owner of a contracted project or the counterparty to a sales contract, guaranteeing the applicant will fulfil the contractual obligations after the owner or the buyer makes advance payment.

Payment guarantee

A written document issued by Bank of China at the request of the buyer to the seller under a contract, guaranteeing the buyer will fulfil the payment obligations under the terms of the contract to purchase goods, technology, patent or labour.
