Bank of China Continues to Support Macau Famine
2017-02-16
Whether poor or rich, living in peace or conflict, children deserve the basic rights to life and survival. Unfortunately, every year more than 3 million children under five die of malnutrition due to hunger, poverty, climate change and conflict. 3 million is not just numbers – it is equal to five times of Macau’s population. Every child deserves to be healthy and fed. Join Macau Famine to provide food for 500,000 people!
From January to May 2017, you can join hands with others and send help to hungry children afar by participating in Macau Famine. Macau Famine includes a series of educational and fundraising activities with this year’s theme – “Food for Every Child”. Your generous donation will be used to support World Vision’s work in African countries, including South Sudan, Zimbabwe and Somalia, by providing food, health and nutrition, and livelihood assistance for children and families.
To support the campaign, general public can now make donations at Bank of China (BOC) branches; and customers of BOC can donate via “BOC Mobile Banking”, “BOC Online Banking (Personal)” or “BOC Express” by selecting “World Vision”, then “Special Donation”, and “Macau Famine”. If you would like to obtain a donation receipt, please print out the transaction record and contact World Vision of Macau Association office on 2835 2740.
If you wish to get a taste of hunger and help raise funds for the starving children, you are welcome to join “10-Hour Famine Camp” (application deadline: 25 April 2017). Please visit www.worldvision.org.hk/eng/macaufamine or contact World Vision of Macau Association on 2835 2740 for details.
