In July 2007, the branch of Bank of China (Europe)S.A. . (Old Name Bank of China (Luxembourg)S.A.）in Rotterdam, the Netherlands was officially opened. (‘Bank’)
The Bank is the first branch of the Bank of China in the Netherlands as well as the first Chinese financial institution in the Netherlands. Drawing on the distinctive tax structure and the sound financial system of the Netherlands, the Bank is dedicated to providing high quality financial services to corporate customers and individual customers from both China and the Netherlands.
The target customers of the bank include:
- Chinese enterprises that are "going global"
- Dutch enterprises trading with China
- Staff of Chinese embassy and consulates in the Netherlands
- Chinese students and overseas Chinese in the Netherlands
The Bank is licensed to operate in The Netherlands by means of an EU passport. The Dutch Central Bank (De Nederlandsche Bank) performs liquidity and integrity supervision.
