Promotion Period
1.This Promotion shall be valid from 1 July 2024 to 31 December 2024 (both dates inclusive) (the "Promotion Period") or such other period as may be determined by Bank of China Limited, Singapore Branch ("BOC") at its absolute discretion.
Eligibility
2.The Promotion is open to all existing and new cardholder of a BOC Zaobao Debit Card (the "Card").
3.For a cardholder to be eligible for the Promotion, the cardholder’s Card account must be in good standing, not blocked from use and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner as determined by BOC in its sole and absolute discretion at all times during this campaign (and BOC shall not be obliged to disclose its reasons for such determination). In the event the Card account is delinquent, voluntarily closed, suspended, terminated or blocked from use for any reason whatsoever before the Cash Rebate is credited into the said Card account, BOC reserves the right not to credit the Cash Rebate at its sole and absolute discretion. Each cardholder who fulfils the eligibility criteria above shall be referred to as an "Eligible Cardholder", and collectively, the "Eligible Cardholders".
4.By participating in the Promotion, Eligible Cardholders agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (as defined in Clause 23 below).
Promotion Mechanics
5.An Eligible Cardholder shall be eligible to receive 1% cash rebate on all Qualifying Spend charged during the Promotion Period and an additional 9% cash rebate on Qualifying Spend charged on Festive Days ("Cash Rebate"). For the avoidance of doubt, Qualifying Spend charged on Festive Days shall be awarded a maximum of 10% Cash Rebate.
The Cash Rebate is capped at S$100 per Eligible Cardholder per calendar month. All Cash Rebate will be rounded down to the nearest cent.
The Cash Rebate that Eligible Cardholders may earn under this Promotion is in addition to any existing Card benefits that they may enjoy, whether currently or in the future.

6."Festive Days" shall for the purposes of this Promotion refer to the following periods of time:
a)8 August 2024 to 12 August 2024;
b)15 September 2024 to 22 September 2024; and
c)22 December 2024 to 31 December 2024.
The dates set out in this Clause 6 are inclusive.
7. "Qualifying Spend" shall for the purposes of this Promotion refer to retail transactions (including offline and online transactions) made in Chinese Mainland and which are charged in Chinese Yuan ("RMB") that:
a)are not Excluded Transactions (as defined in Clause 13 below);
b)have a transaction date falling within the Promotion Period; and
c)have been successfully posted to the Card account no later than the end of the Promotion Period.
For the purposes of calculating Qualifying Spend, all RMB spending will be converted to SGD at the prevailing foreign exchange rates as determined by BOC at its absolute discretion and "Chinese Mainland" refers to the People’s Republic of China excluding Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Taiwan.
8.Each Eligible Cardholder who fulfils the conditions for Qualifying Spend above shall be referred to as a "Qualified Cardholder".
Cash Rebate
9.The Cash Rebate awarded under the Promotion is available on a first-come-first-serve basis, and is strictly non-transferable and non-exchangeable for cash, credit, cashier’s orders, reward points or other things or benefits, whether in whole or in part.
10.The Cash Rebate awarded will be in SGD. The amount of Cash Rebate awarded shall be calculated from all Qualifying Spend converted to SGD at the prevailing foreign exchange rates as determined by BOC.
11.Subject to the fulfilment of these Terms and Conditions, a Qualified Cardholder will be eligible to receive the Cash Rebate within sixty (60) days from the end of each calendar month. The Cash Rebate will thereafter be credited to the Qualified Cardholder’s Card account, or such Card account of the Qualified Cardholder as BOC may decide in its discretion (and BOC shall not be obliged to disclose its reasons for such decision).
General
12.In the event that an Eligible Cardholder qualifies for more than one (1) promotion, BOC shall, without further notice and without assigning any reason, decide the promotion that will apply and reward Eligible Cardholder accordingly at its absolute discretion.
13."Excluded Transactions" shall for the purposes of this Promotion refer to any goods and services taxes, fund transfers, ATM withdrawals, unposted, cancelled, disputed and refunded transactions, payments made to government or government-related institutions (including but not limited to ACRA, CPF, HDB, ICA, LTA, MOM, URA, IRAS and town councils), utility bill payments, AXS payments, SAM payments, loading of prepaid accounts, cards and merchants (including but not limited to EZ-Link, TransitLink, NETS FlashPay, Singtel Dash, Youtrip, GrabPay, MatchMove Pay and HelloPay), any form of donations, payments to educational institutions, hospitals, financial institutions (including banks and brokerages) for financial service and real estate agents and managers, insurance payments, payments for betting through any channel (including but not limited to lottery, gambling, casino, horse/dog racing), cigar stores, any form of money transfer and remittance payments (including but not limited to Swiss Money Transfer, TransferWise and WorldRemit), and all fees charged by BOC or any other third parties (if any) and such other transactions as determined by BOC from time to time at its sole discretion.
14.In the event of any ambiguity, BOC retains the right to determine whether a transaction qualifies as a Qualifying Spend or as an Excluded Transaction.
15.For all Qualifying Spend charged to the Card, the transaction amount(s) posted in the Eligible Cardholder’s account statement (inclusive of the exchange rate conversion and commission, if any) is conclusive of the amount of Qualifying Spend.
16.All Qualifying Spend that are charged to the Card and posted to the Card account within the calendar month are eligible for the Cash Rebate.
17.All Qualifying Spend must be captured and posted in BOC’s server and system no later than the end of the Promotion Period. BOC shall not be responsible or liable for any delays in the transmission to BOC of any evidence of purchases by merchants or any other third parties.
18.In the event that the Qualified Cardholder terminates the banking relationship with BOC within twelve (12) months of the expiry of the Promotion Period, BOC reserves the right to recover the value of any Cash Rebate given to such Qualified Cardholder under the Promotion (whether by charging to or deducting from any of the Qualified Cardholder’s Card account(s) or otherwise).
19.In the event that any transaction(s) made during the Promotion Period for the accumulation of the Qualifying Spend is reversed/refunded/rejected/disputed, BOC reserves the right to forfeit the Cash Rebate and recover the value of any Cash Rebate given to the Qualified Cardholder under the Promotion (whether by charging to or deducting from any of the Qualified Cardholder’s Card account(s) or otherwise) at its absolute discretion.
20.BOC is entitled, for any reason and at any time, without liability, to rectify any errors in the computation of the Qualifying Spend, or otherwise adjust such computation.
21.In the event that an Eligible Cardholder wrongly receives any Cash Rebate, BOC reserves the right, at its absolute discretion, without prior notice and without any liability to any person, to recover the value of the said Cash Rebate from that Eligible Cardholder, including to charge that Eligible Cardholder with the value of the Cash Rebate. No person shall be entitled to any payment or compensation from BOC should BOC exercise its discretion under these Terms and Conditions.
22.By participating in the Promotion, each Eligible Cardholder irrevocably consents and authorises BOC and its agents and vendors (including but not limited to the parties involved in organising, promoting and conducting this Promotion) to collect, use, process and disclose the Eligible Cardholder’s personal data and information to any person for the purposes of the Promotion, and confirms that the Eligible Cardholder has read and agrees to be bound by the terms of BOC Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Policy, as may be amended, supplemented and/or substituted by BOC from time to time, an up-to-date copy of which can be found at www.bankofchina.com/sg/aboutus.
23.BOC reserves the right in its discretion to delete, amend, supplement or vary any of the terms and conditions of the Promotion (including those set out hereunder and in the SMS, Facebook and WeChat channels, collectively, these "Terms and Conditions") or extend, suspend or terminate the Promotion at any time without any notice or liability to any party. In such event, BOC shall not be held responsible notwithstanding that the Eligible Cardholder may have made a Qualifying Spend transaction.
24.BOC shall not be responsible for any failures or delays and shall not be liable in any way to any customer for any loss, damages, claims or expenses arising out of or in connection with this Promotion, including without limitation, any loss, damages or expenses incurred or sustained by reason of any late notification or non-notification by any party.
25.In the event of any inconsistency between the Terms and Conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, the Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency. In the event that there is any inconsistency between any of these Terms and Conditions hereunder and any term of the BOC Terms and Conditions Governing Accounts, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
26.BOC’s decision on all matters relating to the Promotion, including on whether a customer is an Eligible Cardholder or Qualified Cardholder within the meaning of these Terms and Conditions, shall be final, conclusive and binding on all customers. No appeals, correspondence or claims will be entertained.
27.By participating in the Promotion, Eligible Cardholders shall be deemed to have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions including any amendments or variations thereto. These Terms and Conditions are additional to, and shall be read together with the terms contained in the prevailing BOC Terms and Conditions Governing Accounts, which shall continue to apply.
28.A person who is not a party to these Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 to enforce any of these Terms and Conditions.
29.These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Singapore and all customers irrevocably submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
30.All information is correct at the time of publication.
