System Maintenance & Downtime

Q1: Does this System Maintenance affect all my BOC Credit Cards and MoneyPlus accounts?

A1: You may experience some slight inconveniences on all your Singapore issued BOC Cards during the system maintenance hours. Please refer to the table below for the list of services that will be affected.

Q2: I have misplaced my BOC Credit Card(s) and/or Moneyplus card during this system maintenance period. What should I do?

A2: Please contact us at our 24 Hours Customer Service Hotline at 1800 338 5335 (local) or +65 6338 5335 (overseas) to report loss of your BOC cards immediately.

Q3: Can I still contact BOC for my card account related enquiries?

A3: Yes, our 24 Hours Customer Service Hotline will be available at all times to assist on your enquiries.

Card Activation for Overseas Usage

Q1: Why do I need to activate my BOC Card when I am travelling overseas?

A1: BOC is placing added security to protect our customers against fraudulent transactions that may performed by unauthorized parties.

Q2: How should I activate my BOC Card if I am travelling?

A2:Please follow these steps:

a)    Call our 24-hour Customer Service Hotline at 1800 338 5335 (local) or +65 6338 5335 (overseas)

b)    Press “3” for Credit Card & MoneyPlus enquries

c)    Key in your 16-digit card number

d)    Key in your 6-digit telephone PIN

e)    Press “3” for card activation & deactivation for overseas transactions

f)    Press “1” to set your card activation period

g)    Once confirmed, your card will be activated for overseas use immediately

Q3: Can I use my BOC Card immediately after the activation?

A3: Yes. You may use your BOC Card immediately after the activation.

Q4: I do not have my 6-digit telephone PIN with me. How do I get a PIN?

A4:Please call our 24-hour Customer Service Hotline at 1800 338 5335 (local) or +65 6338 5335 (overseas). Our Customer Service Officers will be able to issue you with a new telephone PIN immediately.

Q5: Do I need to deactivate my BOC Card when I am back from travelling?

A5: You will be required to indicate the start and expiry date of your travels whenever you activate your BOC Card. If you have returned from your trip before the stipulated expiry date, we would like to recommend that you deactivate your BOC Card to ensure security for your card.

Q6: How do I deactivate my BOC Card when I am back from travelling?

A6: Please follow the same steps as you did for activating the card:

a)    Call our 24-hour Customer Service Hotline at 1800 338 5335 (local) or +65 6338 5335 (overseas)

b)    Press “3” for Credit Card & MoneyPlus enquries

c)    Key in your 16-digit card number

d)    Key in your 6-digit telephone PIN

e)    Press “3” for card deactivation for overseas transactions

f)    Press “3” to deactivate for overseas transactions

g)    Once confirmed, your card will be deactivated for overseas use immediately

Q7: I did not activate my card for overseas usage. Can I still use my card for buying things online at overseas website? 

A7: Yes. This activation is only to allow you to use your BOC Card at all the terminals overseas (provided they accept Visa / MasterCard / Union Pay Cards). You can still use your BOC Card for online purchases at overseas websites.

Q8: I have already activated my BOC Card. Does my supplementary cardholder need to activate his/her BOC Card prior to traveling?

A8: Yes, your supplementary cardholder need to activate his/her card personally.

Q9: I have already activated my BOC Card. Do I need to activate my card again if I have gotten a new or replacement card?

A9: Yes, you will need to activate your replacement card for overseas usage.

Q10: Will I be able to activate my BOC Card if I am overseas now?

A11: Yes, you may call in to our 24-hour Customer Service Hotline at 1800 338 5335 (local) or +65 6338 5335 (overseas) and follow the card activation steps.
