Frequently Asked Questions(Closure of South Sub-Branch)

Q1:When is South Sub-Branch’s last day of operation?

ANS: The last day of operation is on 24 May 2014. The branch will cease operation with effect from 25 May 2014 onwards.

Q2: How will the branch closure affect me if I previously opened my account(s) at South Sub-Branch?

ANS: Your existing account information will remain unchanged and will not be affected by the closure. You may proceed to any of our other branches for banking transactions.

Q3: I have a safe deposit box at South Sub-Branch. How will the branch closure affect me?

ANS: As we will be terminating the safe deposit box services at South Sub-Branch, we would appreciate if you can collect all the items in your safe deposit box by 24 May 2014. There will be a refund of rental fees based on remaining months on the lease that you have previously been charged.

For customers who are unable to clear the items in your safe deposit box by 24 May 2014, we have made special arrangements to extend the safe deposit box services up to 30 September 2014 for you to collect your items during Monday to Friday, from 9.00am to 5.00pm, and Saturday, from 9.00am to 12.00pm (exclusive of Public Holidays). However, if you are unable to vacate the box by 30 September 2014, the Bank will have no choice but to break open the box as per our internal procedures.

Should you still require safe deposit box services, you may go to either BOC’s Main Branch or Katong Sub-Branch, where safe deposit box rentals are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Q4: What are the opening hours for South Sub-Branch during which I can go down to clear my safe deposit box items?

ANS: From 15 March to 24 May 2014, you may proceed to South Sub-Branch during normal branch banking hours.

Sat 9:00 – 11:30

Closed on Public Holidays

From 25May 2014 to 30 September 2014, you may proceed to South Sub-Branch during the following hours:

Banking Hours: Mon – Fri 9:00 – 17:00

Sat 9:00 – 12:00

Closed on Public Holidays

Q5: Are the annual rental rates for safe deposit boxes at Main Branch and Katong Sub Branch the same as South Sub Branch?

ANS: No, please refer to the fees and charges below:
