Frequently Asked Questions(BOC eStatement)


 

1. What is an eStatement?

An eStatement is an electronic version of the physical copies of your account(s) statement(s) in Adobe PDF format that can be retrieved from BOC Personal Online Banking/ Personal Mobile Banking, or is sent to your registered email address with the bank for credit cardholders.

2. What are the benefits of eStatement?

3. Do I have to apply for the eStatement service?

All BOC eligible customers with single name accounts who have access to BOC Personal Online Banking/ Personal Mobile Banking and Credit Cardholders have been automatically enrolled for the eStatement service.

4. What software do I need to view eStatement?

You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print your eStatement.

5. Are there any charges for eStatements?

No, this is a free service.

6. How do I save a copy of my eStatement?

The eStatement will be in a form of a PDF file and you may save it as you normally would for any PDF file.

7. Are there any terms and conditions regarding the eStatement service that I should be aware of?

8. Are there any differences on eStatement for your personal banking accounts and credit card?

Yes.

a. Personal Banking Account

(1) Can I retrieve past eStatements and how long will past eStatements be stored for?

You will enjoy access to up to 3 years of your past eStatements or up to the date of commencement of generation of eStatements (as the case may be).

Multi-Currency Savings Account 30 June 2018 or Account Opening Date
Current Account 30 November 2017 or Account Opening Date
Time Deposit Account 31 December 2017 or Account Opening Date
Personal Mortgage Loans 31 December 2017 or Account Opening Date

(2) What are the eligible accounts that the eStatement service is offered to?

Currently, we offer eStatement services for these accounts :

  • Multi-Currency Savings Account (Only monthly eStatement is available)
  • Current Account (Only monthly eStatement is available)
  • Time Deposit Account (Only yearly eStatement is available)
  • Personal Mortgage Loans (Housing Loan, Commercial Property Loan, Term Loan,Premium Financing and Cross Border Loan) (Only yearly eStatement is available)

However, please note that accounts such as Passbook Savings Accounts and joint accounts are not eligible for the eStatements services.

(3) I have multiple accounts with the Bank. Can I request for eStatement for one account and paper statement for the other?

No. Once enrolled for eStatement, all your banking and loan accounts will be on eStatement. This is only applicable for sole named accounts.

(4)How do I view my eStatement?

View your eStatement via 3 simple steps as follows:

  • Step 1 : Log in to Personal Online Banking/ Personal Mobile Banking
  • Step 2 : Select "My Accounts"/ "View Account" under the left menu bar, and choose "Account Statement Service" / "View eStatement"
  • Step 3 : Select the account type and month you wish to view

(5) When will my eStatement be ready for viewing?

Your eStatements for the immediately preceding month/ half-year / year (as the case may be) will be available for viewing:

Type of eStatement Ready-to-view date
Monthly eStatement for Multi-Currency Savings Account By 3rd day of every month
Monthly eStatement for Current Account By 3rd day of every month
Bi-Yearly eStatement for Time Deposit Account By 3rd day of every January and July
Yearly eStatement for Personal Mortgage Loans By end January of every year

(6) I have received notification (via mail/email/SMS) from the Bank that my statement will be converted from paper to eStatement. However, I would still prefer to receive paper statements. What should I do to continue receiving paper statements?

You can complete and send us the hardcopy form provided with our mail notification. Alternatively, you can contact us at 1800-6695566 or +(65) 677 95566 (if dialling from overseas).

b. Credit Cards

(1) Can I retrieve past eStatements and how long will past eStatements be stored for?

You will enjoy access to up to 1 year of archived eStatements. You will not be able to view past bank statement(s) prior to your enrolment date.

(2) How do I view my eStatement?

i. Your eStatement will be sent to your email address registered with the bank and the password will be sent in the welcome email.

ii. You may log in to your Personal Online Banking account :

  • Step 1: Log in to Personal Online Banking
  • Step 2: Select "Credit Card" under the left menu bar, and choose "Billing Service"
  • Step 3: Select the Credit Card and month you wish to view and download

iii. You may log in to your Personal Mobile Banking account:

  • Step 1: Log in to Personal Mobile Banking
  • Step 2: Select the Credit Card you wish to view and click on the "Statement" icon below the credit card
  • Step 3: Select "E-statement" on the top right side of the screen
  • Step 4: Select the month you wish to view and download the statement

(3) When will my eStatement be ready for viewing?

Your eStatement will be available for viewing within 7 business days from your monthly statement date and sent to your registered email address with us, or you may view it via Personal Online Banking.

(4)How do I update my email address with the bank?

You may call in to our hotline 1800 338 5335 or +(65) 338 5335 (if dialling from overseas) or send an email to cardservice.sg@bankofchina.com to update your email address on record.

(5) Can I request not to receive my eStatement via email but instead view it from online / mobile banking?

Yes, you may call in to our call centre at 1800 338 5335 or +(65)6338 5335 (if dialing from overseas) or send an email to cardservice.sg@bankofchina.com to request for it.
